Shadae Lamar Smith is an American-British Filmmaker and Creative Director whose heritage is set in Jamaica. Growing up in Miami, Shadae studied Acting, dance, and theatre design. He was accepted to the Dance Theatre of Harlem school where he studied ballet, and the Broadway Theatre Project.

Shadae received his B.A. in theatre performance from Fordham University and his M.F.A in Film Directing and Production from UCLA. His film The Resort was shot in Tobago, and screened at The Havana Film Festival, The Zimbabwe International Film Festival, and the Munich Festival of Film Schools to name a few.

One of his narrative directing endeavors include Miss Famous, starring actors Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids, SNL), Jimmy Kimmel (Late Night with Jimmy Kimmel) and Tony Cox (Bad Santa, Friday). Miss Famous premiered at the Palm Springs International Short Film Festival, won the Slate Award at the California Independent Film Festival, and screened as in flight content on United Airlines.

Shadae has participated in the Goodby Silverstein Diverse Directors Residency for commercial directing. He is also a member of the Directors Guild of America.

Shadae worked as creative director for Grammy Award winning artist and entrepreneur will.i.am and his brand i.am+. In addition, he has also directed work with A$AP RockyThe Black Eyed Peas, Nicole Scherzinger, Slick Rick, India Love, Serpentwithfeet, and PISO 21. His commercial spots include work for Bose, Uber, The Golden State Warriors, Prettylittlething, and Liquid IV to name a few.
